Based on the pattern and difficulty level of question on AIEEE-2012 the expected cut off in this exam for rank under 15000 is 165 marks . If a student get 165 marks the expected rank for this marks is approximately 15000 .

• Total marks in AIEEE 2012: 360
• Total question asked in AIEEE-2012: 90
• The expected cutoff for under 15000 rank for AIEEE 2012: 165

I hope that this prediction stands, but I am very skeptical of the contention that 200-165 marks will give you 10000-15000 rank. you can not squeeze 5000 ranks in 10 marks from 210-200 and apply the same treatment to 200-165 marks, a staggering difference of 35 marks in an exam given by 1.1 million i.e 11,00,000 students.

hence this ranking has a problem.

Dear Raman,

You should know the average range of Marks lies between 210-200 that is why so much of difference in ranking occurs i this Region. There are number of parameters which decides rankings some are, Age, Marks in Individual Subject, Past performance, Answers to High weightage questions, and so on…There is a possibility that 1000 Students may have scored 211 Marks.

you are correct raman . even 5 marks can create a diffrence of 5000 rank

5. rahul05-05-2012

possibility of scoring <5000 with 230 marks? and getting cse in nsit/ dce with delhi quota

6. ashar05-06-2012

it is understandable for 200-210. But extending the same logic (about 500 persons for each mark), the rank variation between 200 and 165 (35 marks ) would accomodate say about 17500 persons. So the range 200 – 165 should see the ranks varying from 10000 to 27500.
