NIDEE

National Institute of Design (NID) is an internationally acclaimed as one of the foremost multi-disciplinary institutions in the field of design education and research. NID conducts an entrance examination called National Institute of Design Entrance Examination (NIDEE). All applicants are required to attend the design aptitude tests. Selected candidates will be asked to attend a studio test and interview.

NID Entrance Test (DAT) is conducted at Ahmedabad, Bangluru, Bhopal, Chennai, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolkata & Mumbai.

Eligibility Criteria For GDPD:

GDPD is a 4-year intensive professional UG programme is offered in the following three Faculty streams

Eligibility:

A candidate should have pass in 12th in any stream. A candidate should not be more than 20 years as on 1st June, 2012 for general candidates. An SC/ST candidate should not be more than 23 years of age.
The candidates who are appearing in their final exams for 12th are also eligible to apply.

For postgraduate program: Candidate’s upper age limit is 27 years (relaxable by 3 years for reserved categories) as on 1.6.2012. Candidates with work experience are preferred.

Eligibility for PGDPD:

PGDPD programme is 2 to 2½ years course offered in the following specific areas of specialization in 15 design disciplines under the five faculties.

Textile and Apparel Design – Textile Design	B.F.A., Applied Arts, Textile/Handloom Technology, Textile/Knitwear/ Fashion Design / Home Science with Textile & Clothing
Apparel Design & Merchandising	B.F.A., Applied Arts, Textile/ Knitwear/ Fashion Design or graduates in Merchandising or any other disciplines with proven proficiency in drawing and garment construction/presentation.
Lifestyle Accessory Design	B.F.A., Applied Arts, Design, B.Arch, Interior Design, Accessory Design and relevant disciplines in Technology / Engineering
Communication Design – Graphic Design	B.F.A., Applied Arts, B.Arch., Interior Design, Graduates with experience in Graphic Design.

Design Management – Strategic Design Management	Any recognized 3-year Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts, Humanities, Science or a 4-year degree in Engineering, Technology, etc. with work experience of minimum 2 years in a design/design related organization/td>

Application Fee:

Application fee for General Category candidates is Rs. 1500/-

Application fee for Reserved Categories (SC / ST / OBC / PH) is Rs.750/- who should also send in an attested copy of the relevant certificate from competent authority) and a self – addressed envelope of 9? x 12? size with 40/- stamps affixed. Mark your envelope NID ‘Admissions 2012′.

NID Forms can also be downloaded from www.nid.edu/downloads & sent along with DD for 1500/- drawn on any Nationalized Bank in favour of “National Institute of Design” payable at Ahmedabad.
