Finally result for the IAS(Mains) 2013 has been declared on 12th june 2014, by UPSC(Union Public Service Commission) .
Jaipur lad Gaurav Agrawal has topped the exam this was his second attempt. He holds Bachelor of Technology (Computer Science) degree from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kanpur, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Management from Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow.
The IAS Main Examination 2013 held in the month of December, 2013 and the interviews for Personality Test held in April-June, 2014.The Civil Services (preliminary) Examination was held on May 26, 2013.
Qualified candidates who have been recommended for appointment to:
- Indian Administrative Service;
- Indian Police Service;
- Indian Foreign Service;
- Central Services, Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’
Total number of 1122 candidates have been recommended for appointment to the above said posts.
Agrawal, who got 244th rank in 2012 and chose for IPS in undergoing training in Hyderabad at National Police Academy.
“Initially I could not believe. Then I started receiving calls from my friends, father, mother and wife congratulating me,” the 29-year-old from Jaipur said.
” IAS is my first choice. It is a field job. You can meet people, understand their problems and then try to solve them,” said Gaurav.
Munish Sharma and Rachit Raj, both from Delhi, have got the second and third positions respectively.
15 men and 10 women are in the top 25. Among the 25 ,24 took the examination in English and 1 in Kannada medium
Five of them have cleared in their first attempt, 11 in the second attempt, seven in the third and two in their fourth attempt.please visit the official website of UPSC — www.upsc.gov.in
